Product information "AMS Neve 1073 SPX-D"
The 1073SPX-D merges the legendary 1073® preamplifier with a high-performance digital audio interface, providing USB and ADAT connectivity for seamless integration into any studio, live sound, or mobile recording setup. Combining a complete 1073 channel strip with versatile I/O capabilities, the 1073SPX-D serves as a central hub for recording, mixing, and monitoring. With nine inputs (1× analog / 8× ADAT) and 12 outputs (4× analog / 8× ADAT), this unit can manage multiple audio sources and expand easily with additional hardware.
Featuring a class-compliant USB interface, the 1073SPX-D offers plug-and-play simplicity for direct DAW integration on PC or Mac, while its ADAT ports operate in dual modes: as a USB/ADAT hub for expanding recording and monitoring capacity or as an ADAT Audio Expander to integrate the 1073 channel strip into existing systems. This digital option allows tracks in your DAW to be routed through the 1073SPX-D’s discrete class-A circuitry, including Marinair transformers and inductor-based EQ, before returning via USB or ADAT.
The 1073SPX-D includes comprehensive monitoring controls, enabling direct connection of studio monitors and headphones with attenuation, speaker cut, and blend control for latency-free monitoring of both DAW tracks and the 1073SPX-D signal. Retaining the classic 1073 discrete class-A topology and Marinair transformers, the 1073SPX-D delivers the authentic 1073 sound while combining modern production techniques, including SMT assembly and hand-mounting of critical components.
Accurate 5dB stepped gain control, three independent gain stages, and a musical three-band inductor EQ ensure professional-level sound shaping, while extensive analog I/O, switchable front/rear connections, balanced insert loops, and a rotary output fader provide full control over signal flow and studio integration.
