The 73DI ONE is a single channel high-fidelity, transformer-isolated active DI box based on the legendary 73 topology, re-engineered for modern professional audio applications. Designed around a Class A, 3055-driven output stage with a custom silicon steel grain-oriented output transformer, the 73DI ONE delivers the warm, dynamic, and richly saturated tone, known from the iconic vintage 73 preamps.
The 73DI ONE adopts the legendary 3-transistor topology circuit of the 73 preamps with a J109 JFET as first transistor to achieve a high 2.2 megohm input impedance and a 2n3055 metal can output transistor to drive the custom-developed silicon steel grain-oriented output transformer. Being a transformer based unit, its output is isolated from the instrument and with the ground lift switch, noise and interference can also be eliminated. An additional 15dB PAD switch helps with hotter instruments and even allows speaker outputs to be plugged into the 73DI ONE. A THRU parallel connection a for forwarding the input signals is also available. All jacks and XLR are gold plated and isolated from chassis. An attractive yet protective extruded aluminum case makes the 73 DI ONE virtually indestructible and totally roadworthy, with all connections recessed for foolproof operation.
This meticulously engineered design is what gives the 73 DI ONE its outstanding performance, delivering a rich, dynamic direct sound that fully captures the harmonic complexity of any instrument and even pre-recorded tracks. Ideal for guitars, basses, keyboards, synths, drum machines, and samplers, the 73DI ONE brings out the true voice of every instrument - enhancing passive basses with punch and presence, revealing the full body of a Fender Rhodes, and adding rich saturation to Wurlitzer EPs.
