PhilosophyFetHead Transformer is a high quality inline microphone preamplifier. It provides a very warm andthick yet articulate sound for dynamic and ribbon microphones. FetHead Transformer’s desirablecharacter is a really great addition to (interface) preamps which sound rather neutral. Our tried andtrue FET technology combined with a custom wound nickel core transformer delivers 28dB oftransformer infused gain.
OperationYour Fethead Transformer will latch straight onto any XLR equipped microphone, or anywhere else inthe signal path between microphone and preamp/mixer. The electronics are housed in a robust metalchassis with a balanced female XLR input and a balanced male XLR output, rugged enough for use athome, in the studio or on tour.

Germanium microphone preamp
FetHead Germanium is a high quality, in-line microphone preamplifier. It provides a punchy and direct, ‘larger than life’ germanium sound for ribbon and dynamic microphones, adding classy Germanium harmonics. Sounding full and rich it is reminiscent of much higher priced vintage gear, making FetHead Ge's desirable coloration a really great addition to (Interface) preamps which sound rather neutral.
Germanium flavour
Germanium transistors were widely used in earliest transistor designs by Neve, EMI, Telefunken, and Fairchild, and have developed a reputation for a decidedly vintage mojo that remains sought after today. We created a novel hybrid circuit that consists of low noise JFets and a hand-selected ‘new old stock’ germanium transistor to take full advantage of the "Germanium" sound and at the same time achieve the same sonic quality we are known for.
Protects the microphone
Some ribbon microphone do not tolerate phantom power. FetHead Germanium circuit uses 48v phantom power but shields it from the microphone, your microphone is protected.

Built on our long and proud legacy of making broadcast-ready monitor controllers, it features a 5” intuitive touchscreen and a small footprint that preserves valuable space at your desktop.
It even features RTW standard precision metering with loudness and includes SPL, measured using the built-in microphone.
Stereo, Surround, Immersive
With support for up to 32 Dante® channels in and out, TouchControl 5 can handle channel formats from stereo to 22.2.
Among the many supported formats you will find 5.1 and 7.1 surround as well as 7.1.4 and 9.1.6 immersive.

Tried, tested, and approved by many broadcast engineers around the world, you find the very same monitor control engine that you might know from our legacy surround monitor controllers.
The list is long, but let’s emphasize downmix, DSP-powered speaker calibration (using the internal microphone OR manual set), SPL readout, 4 input sources, speaker set selection (up to 4), solo, cut, swap, phase, mono, dim, mute and test tone generator.
The source compare feature lets you toggle between sources for easy comparison and lets you set individual delays for each of the sources.
On the output side, you can set up four speaker sets and easily switch between them or you can listen to your work with your favorite headphones using the headphones output.
Controls and meters on your monitor page
The SPL meter shows the measured sound pressure level in your room, and you can show SPL either as a bar graph or as a number – or both.
The downmix instrument outputs your surround or immersive mix in stereo and mono.
The downmixed signal can be monitored on speakers or phones or sent to any destination in your audio network.
Each speaker can be muted or soloed, and you can invert polarity.
The talkback feature lets you talk to speakers or any destination in your Dante network.
LF Boost lets you boost your LFE channels with 10 dB and Surr. Att. attenuates the surround channels with 3dB.
Speaker Calibration
The speakers in your setup can be calibrated with regards to level, delay and EQ. The support for measurement microphones, the built-in test tone generator and the live-input SPL meter is the optimal tool combination for calibrating your speaker levels to ensure they are perfectly aligned.
Each speaker has a DSP section for ultimate control. You can set individual delay, gain and polarity, and a 4-band EQ is available for each speaker in your setup.
Calibrated speaker levels can easily be recalled by the press of a knob.
Bass Management
Up to two LFE channels with adjustable crossover frequencies can be adapted to your requirements using the bass management. Full-range speakers and smaller speakers can be finely tuned to each other and operated in the same system, while LP filters for bass-controlled speakers, all-pass filters for other speakers and an additional SUB output channel for formats without LFE is also available.
RTW Metering Inside
As you know, metering plays a significant role in any RTW device, and so it does in the TouchControl 5.
The PPM metering engine is taken from our high-end TouchMonitor meters, and you get a wealth of ways to tailor your own metering experience, including scales, color settings and more.

Loudness, SPL and LRA
For many years, RTW has taken part of forming the international loudness standards in ITU and EBU. Loudness is key to us, so in TouchControl 5 we have implemented the full loudness engine known from our high end broadcast meters.
TouchControl 5 supports all international loudness standards such as EBU R128, ITU-R BS.1770-4/1771-1, ATSC A/85, ARIB, OP-59, AGCOM, CALM, LEQ(M), TASA and SAWA.
The Toolbox
The Fader instrument allows level control of any Dante® channel in your network, and you can freely configure each fader to control the number of channels you wish. More faders can be combined, so you can control multiple groups of channels, and if you do so, levels are controlled relatively, using TouchControl 5's knob.
TouchControl 5's touch screen can of course also be used to control each fader, and you can create up to 4 faders each controlling single channels, stereo-, surround- or immersive formats.
Toolbox instruments also include a Talkback feature that lets you talk to any audio channel in you network. Talkback sources include the built-in mic, the external XLR input or any audio network channels.

TouchControl 5 lets you design your own view pages.
For each instrument you can decide on size, ratio and placement, and several instruments can be rotated to fit your needs.
Buttons can be placed anywhere on the screen, those that are placed in the side bar are avaiable across view pages.
Say you want your input selector to be avilable also on the metering page - just place it in the side bar.

The Routing page lets you route your audio channels to and from TouchControl 5.
With support for 32 Dante® channels plus the physical I/Os, there is a lot of possibilities. For instance you could use the same channels for monitor control and metering, or split them so metering is independent from monitor control.

TUBESESSOR - Optical Tube Compressor
The Heritage Audio TUBESESSOR is an optical tube compressor with an absolute sweet, warm and natural dynamic control possible, but also the possibility to spice up the sound up on occasion.
Tube compression, especially based on an optical design, is generally considered to be warmer than VCA and FET designs, and it tends to provide a very pleasant, more natural, smoother result. This has made it the preferred choice for seasoned engineers and producers that want to provide a very transparent control over a signal while offering a hint of enhancement but keeping true to the original tone. For this very reason optical tube compressors are usually the first thing one reaches for when dealing with critical vocals and bass signals. The TUBESESSOR is the perfect option for this.
Analog excellence is achieved by combining an all tube-based amplification stage with an outstanding UTC A10 input transformer replica by AMI, as well as a custom all-silicon steel output transformer. With an elevated internal operating voltage you can be sure the TUBESESSOR will heat up any signal while also maintaining its character and vibe. No starved plate circuits here! Never has dynamics control been so easily obtainable while at the same time so invisible. Even with generous amounts of gain reduction being applied anything processed with the TUBESESSOR still maintains its clarity and depth.
Thanks to the TUBESESSOR´S three unit high front panel you´ll find plenty of room to adjust the large Herchild-style knobs making it a breeze to achieve the desired sound. No cramped spaces here, just plenty of space to easily and quickly adjust the settings to taste.
Now, we all know it would not be a Heritage Audio product without our expertise and passion channeled into a couple key features that take the TUBESESSOR to another dimension.
First of all, for those times when a bit more texture and bite is called for, there´s nothing better than a little saturation…or maybe a lot. The innovative TUBE SATURATION section takes full advantage of a creamy sounding NOS Raytheon double triode tube to add in just a pinch of aggression or fully transform the signal into something ready for war. It, importantly, works in tandem with the custom output transformer to produce the right harmonic content. There are 4 available settings that vary from CLASSIC, no saturation, all the way to HOT, a heavily treated signal. This feature alone opens up a ton of possibilities for drums and other instruments vastly expanding the TUBESESSOR´S uses. And thanks to Heritage Audio´s use of an audiophile-grade Psvane dual output triode in a totem pole configuration, a solid output stage is guaranteed all while allowing much higher headroom than other tube compressors, whether vintage or modern.
Secondly, there are also five internal sidechain filter settings to choose from. This is the exact same filter section that helped the SUCCESSOR obtain its legendary status. Two of the options make sure the compressor is not being unfairly overpowered by lower frequencies and the other three are frequency specific options for extra creativity.
Continuously adjustable ATTACK & RELEASE controls in addition to a FIXED mode and a combination of the two will provide all the necessary settings possible, allowing you to mold your signal exactly as you´d like. A huge, attractive custom VU meter for monitoring either Input, Output or Gain Reduction guarantees you´ll always be informed with a clear reading of exactly what is happening.
